Italian Exchange Visits: Croatian Stakeholders Representing Blind and Visually Impaired Individuals Explored from Ancona to the Heart of Pesaro and Urbino Province

From the 26th to 27th of June, the Catria and Nerone Mountain Union hosted a group of visually impaired and blind tourists from Croatia, along with their helpers, to test the itineraries developed for the OMNIS project.

The journey began with a visit to the Furlo Canyon, where the group was captivated by the contrast between the roar of the waterfall and the tranquillity of the promenade, where birdsong was the most prominent sound. The group then immersed themselves in the Renaissance period with a visit to Urbino, focusing on the magnificent Palazzo Ducale.

On the second day, the tourists explored Frontone Castle and enjoyed a beer tasting at the Catria Brewery. To conclude the trip, the group visited the Omero State Tactile Museum in Ancona, Marche. This unique museum allows visitors to experience art through touch, providing an inclusive space that promotes the integration of people with visual disabilities and is accessible to all. Throughout the stay, the visitors also enjoyed local delicacies, including truffle dishes, cold meats, and cheeses.
